I created new admin account to my laptop and deleted original user account. But when i start my laptop, that original account still shows in log in screen and tries to log in it. How to remove that user account completely?

    Log into your new account.

Click your Start Button, then just type netplwiz and press Enter.

On the resulting utility, do you see both you new and old account listed there?

If so, before proceeding, ensure your new account is listed as an Administrator.

Then, on that utility, select the old account and click Delete.

That should remove the old account completely from your PC.

    Use these checks in order:

    1. Remove the old account from Windows
      • Open Settings > Accounts > Other users.
      • Under Other users, select the old account.
      • Next to Account and data, select Remove.
      • This removes the person’s sign-in information and data from the device. It does not delete that person’s Microsoft account.
    2. If the old account is a work or school account, disconnect it
      • Open Settings > Accounts > Access work or school.
      • Select the dropdown next to that account and choose Disconnect.
      • Select Yes to confirm.
      • This removes the sign-in information and data from the device.
    3. If the old account still appears on the sign-in screen, remove the old local profile entry
      • Warning: deleting a profile can remove local data for that profile.
      • Press Start, type sysdm.cpl, and open it.
      • Go to Advanced > User Profiles > Settings.
      • Delete the old user profile if it is still listed.
    4. Remove the leftover sign-in entry
      • Press Start, type netplwiz, and open it.
      • Remove the old user if it is still listed.
    5. Restart the laptop
      • After restart, only the remaining account should appear.

    Important:

    • Make sure the new account has administrator rights before removing anything else.
    • If the old account is the built-in Administrator account, disable it instead of deleting it.
