You can share a Microsoft 365 Family subscription with up to five other people. Only Microsoft 365 Family (or Premium) can be shared. Personal can't.

Option 1: Invite through the sharing page

    1. Sign in at the Microsoft 365 sharing page with the account that bought the subscription.
    2. Select Start sharing.
    3. Choose Invite via email or Invite via link. If you use email, use the address they'll sign in with.
    4. They open the email or link, sign in with their Microsoft account, and select Join now.

Option 2: Add them to your Microsoft family group first

    1. Go to family.microsoft.com and sign in as the organizer.
    2. Select Add a family member and send the invite.
    3. Once they join, the subscription is shared with them. They can sign in at account.microsoft.com to install the Office apps.

    If it doesn't work:

    • If you don't see Start sharing, you're probably not the subscription owner, or you have Personal rather than Family.
    • Someone already in another family group has to leave it before joining yours.
    • AI features can't be shared with other members. They only work for the owner.
