Yes. A Microsoft account can be created with an existing Gmail address.
Steps:
- Go to Create an account.
- Enter the Gmail address.
- Create a password and select Next.
- Enter name, country/region, and birthdate.
- Complete the captcha.
- Verify the Gmail address with the code Microsoft sends to that address.
Important points:
- Using a Gmail address for a Microsoft account does not mean Google credentials can be used to sign in. The Gmail address is used as the username/sign-in alias for the Microsoft account.
- Gmail messages do not automatically appear in the Microsoft account or Outlook. To see Gmail mail in Outlook, the Gmail account must be added separately in Outlook.
- An email address previously used for a Microsoft account cannot be reused, even if that old account was closed.
For the "account creation is blocked" problem, the supported options are:
- Try a different sign-up method, such as using an email address instead of a phone number.
- Try creating the account on another device.
- Stop repeated attempts for at least 24 hours, because repeated registrations can keep triggering the restriction.
- Disable VPN, proxy, ad blocker, or privacy extensions, clear browser cache, ensure JavaScript is enabled, and try again in a normal browser window instead of Incognito/InPrivate.
- If setting up a new PC, start with an existing Microsoft account or a local account, then add or switch to the new Microsoft account later.
- If it still fails, use the Sign-in helper or Contact Microsoft Support.
