Hi, I pre-ordered MC Dungeons 2, but it did not go through, and without any notice or option to change the payment method.
Can I still fix this in order to get the twisted cape please?

Hello and good day. Sorry to know on what happened with regards to the pre-order that you made.

If there is no trace of the order via https://account.microsoft.com/orders and it has passed the pre-order period as the game has already been released then I am afraid that you will not be able to obtain the Hero cape anymore.

As alternative, you get the Hero Cape by playing Minecraft Dungeons I and then Minecraft Dungeons II with the same Microsoft account and you can also see the link below as a reference.

This will depend as the game has already been released and for this you can either reach out to the support team at https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/contactus/ and then click on Windows and then click Get Home Support and then type in Billing question and click the blue button that says Sign in to contact Support and login and proceed from there or you can also check this with the Minecraft team via https://aka.ms/Minecraft-Support.

If the pre-order payment did not go through, it can still be fixed before launch by updating the payment method.

Sign in to Order history at https://account.microsoft.com/orders with the Microsoft account used for the pre-order.
Find the Minecraft Dungeons 2 pre-order.
Select Change how you pay.
Choose a different payment option or add a new one.

If there was no alternate payment method available, Microsoft retries the current payment option two more times before the pre-order launches. If payment still cannot be collected, the pre-order is cancelled.

Also check these common payment blockers:

Make sure the card or PayPal details are up to date on the Payment options page.
Check for any past-due Microsoft subscription balance.
Check whether the Microsoft account is temporarily suspended.
If applicable, check whether the Xbox account is suspended.

If the order already shows as completed but the game or item does not appear, go to the product page in Microsoft Store. If Buy has changed to Install, select Install. If the order went through and the item still is not available, contact Microsoft Store support.

The available guidance only confirms how to restore a failed pre-order payment and that an unpaid pre-order is cancelled before launch. It does not provide any confirmed policy about restoring or granting the twisted cape separately.
