Using Outlook for Android for personal email and calendar management
BigPond passwords are not retrieved from Outlook for Android. The password must be reset or an app password must be generated through the BigPond email provider.
For Outlook for Android:
- Open Outlook for Android.
- Go to Settings > Add Account > Add Email Account.
- Enter the BigPond email address and choose IMAP or POP3 if prompted.
- Turn on Advanced settings and enter the password and server settings from the email provider.
If the regular BigPond password is forgotten, use the BigPond provider’s account recovery or password reset process on its website.
If BigPond requires an app password, use that instead of the normal account password. A documented BigPond resolution is:
- Sign in to BigPond webmail.
- Select Settings.
- Go to Accounts.
- Select Generate App Password.
- Create the app password.
- Add the account again in Outlook for Android using the app password instead of the normal password.
If Outlook for Android still does not sync after the password is changed, delete the email account from the app and re-add it. For Exchange or IMAP/POP accounts, incorrect username, password, or server settings can also cause sign-in errors.
- Set up email in the Outlook for Android app
