A unified data governance solution that helps manage, protect, and discover data across your organization
Hi @Soumya Mohanty - building on the answers from @Copilot Workshop and AI, here are two real-world scenarios that justify DLP for Copilot.
Legal: attorneys want Copilot to draft from case files, but some contain privileged material. Label those files, then add a label-based DLP rule so Copilot won't use them in responses. Labels have to be applied first, and the item can still appear as a citation.
HR: analysts do web-grounded research and may paste PII into prompts. Add a rule with sensitive info types. Choose "Processing prompts" to block the response entirely (preview), or "Performing Web Searches" so Copilot still answers from internal sources. Web queries go to Bing, which runs separately from Microsoft 365, so that second action matters here. SIT and label conditions need separate rules, and files uploaded into a prompt aren't scanned.
Start in simulation mode and review Activity Explorer before enforcing.
