I am trying to see about attempted charges to my Microsoft account that seem fraudulent. They are being attempted to the card on file and I have had to shut down my credit card because of it. I need someone to actually talk to me about the situation and help identify the where the charges have come from. I have called you phone number multiple time and since I originally said it was a payment issue (only prompt I could use) and it keeps hanging up on me. I have done all of the checks I can possibly do on subscriptions, payment history, etc. I need help. It is ridiculous that I can't actually get to a person.

Hi, I'm Bernard. I'm happy to help!

Since you have already investigated and checked your Microsoft account, have you also checked with your bank or requested a replacement card? This will help ensure that the attempted charges are not coming from your account. Moreover, to make sure that the attempted charges are not from your account, you may reach Microsoft Accounts and Billing support by following the steps below:

    Go to this link: https://support.microsoft.com/home/contact

In the search bar, type in your issue, then hit Enter.

Scroll down to the bottom and select the blue button "Contact Support"

    Hi @Chris Pantano

If the charges match nothing in your subscriptions or order history, your card number is most likely being used on someone else's Microsoft account. You can't see that account, and neither can support show it to you. Your bank dispute is the fix for that, and killing the card was the right move.

    Quick checks:

    1. Compare the charges against ALL your Microsoft accounts and family members' accounts, especially kids' Xbox purchases: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/account-billing/how-to-investigate-a-billing-charge-from-microsoft-398c5328-364c-d5e4-ea8f-f5ad60562a93
    2. Remove the old card at account.microsoft.com > Payment options, and check account.live.com/activity for strange sign-ins. If you find any, change password and enable two-step verification.
    3. To reach a human: https://support.microsoft.com/contactus > sign in > type "unauthorized charges" > scroll past the articles > Contact Support > choose chat. Chat gets a live agent, no hang-ups.

If the charges came from an account that isn't yours, the agent will confirm the bank dispute is the resolution. That's the correct answer, not a brush-off.
