Microsoft 365 features that help users manage their subscriptions, account settings, and billing information.
Hi Audra,
The option isn't missing, it's just hidden. Classic never shows on the dashboard, it only appears inside the cancellation flow.
Do this:
- Go to account.microsoft.com/services, signed in with the account that owns the subscription.
- Find Microsoft 365 Personal, click Manage > Cancel subscription. Don't worry, this doesn't cancel anything yet.
- On the cancel page, the downgrade options appear. Pick Microsoft 365 Personal Classic and confirm. It takes effect at your next renewal.
If Classic doesn't show up there, check these: recurring billing must be turned ON, and the subscription must be bought directly from Microsoft (if it came through Apple or Google, they control the plans and Classic won't appear). Classic is also a targeted offer for existing subscribers, so not every account gets it.
If you tick those boxes and still don't see it, contact billing support at support.microsoft.com/contactus and ask them directly to switch you to Personal Classic. Agents can apply it where the flow doesn't show it.
One warning: don't fully cancel hoping to re-subscribe to Classic. It can't be purchased fresh, only switched to.
