Hello,
I am writing to request a full refund of £104.99, which was recently taken for my Microsoft subscription.
I have had an automatically renewing annual subscription since 2017, but I have not used your services for more than three years. I also attempted to cancel the subscription last year but was unsuccessful, as I was not aware that I also needed to cancel the recurring payment through PayPal.
The latest payment was taken less than 24 hours ago, and my account activity clearly shows that I have had 0% usage over the past year. I have therefore not used or benefited from the subscription for which I have just been charged.
I contacted PayPal to request a refund, but they advised me to contact Microsoft directly. I have now been told by Microsoft that PayPal is a third-party payment provider and that I am not entitled to a refund. I find this extremely frustrating, as the payment was made for a Microsoft subscription, and I am contacting you almost immediately after the payment was taken.
I have also not received any email from Microsoft notifying me that my subscription was due to renew.
I would therefore appreciate it if you could review my account and refund the £104.99 payment as a matter of goodwill. Given that the payment was made less than 24 hours ago, I believe this is a very reasonable request, particularly considering that the subscription has not been used for over a year.
Unfortunately, I no longer have access to the email address ******@miniprofessors.co.uk that was previously associated with my account. However, I hope you can still locate my subscription and payment details using the relevant account information.
I would appreciate confirmation that the refund has been processed and that the recurring subscription/payment has been cancelled so that I am not charged again.
Thank you, and I look forward to your prompt response.
Kind regards, Julie Flook
