I am unable to use Microsoft Word. It shows that it is not activated, however my account should auto renew in mid-october, not September.

    Hello Angela Olivieri

Thank you for reaching out and if your Microsoft 365 subscription is supposed to stay active until mid-October, then Word showing "Not Activated" in September does not automatically mean your subscription has expired, please try these steps next:

    1. Go to account.microsoft.com/services and sign in with the Microsoft account you use for Word.
    2. Confirm whether you see an active Microsoft 365 subscription and check the displayed expiration/renewal date.
    3. Open Word and go to File > Account.
    4. Sign out of all accounts shown there, close all Office apps, then open Word and sign back in with the same account that owns the subscription.
    5. In File > Account, select Update Options > Update Now.

Please try the steps above and please let me know if it works.
