You do not need to set the $2,000 Azure credit as the default payment method. If the credit is correctly assigned to the billing profile/subscription, Azure automatically applies it to eligible usage before charging the credit card.
The credit card can remain listed as the payment method. It is used for charges not covered by the credit or any remaining amount after the available credit is consumed.
Please check Cost Management + Billing and confirm that the $2,000 credit is associated with the same billing profile used by your subscription. Also note that some charges, such as certain Marketplace products and support plans, may not be covered by Azure credits.
