I am having issues connecting MS apps to the account. I can go to the account, but cannot connect the apps saying they cannot reach the internet. But clearly I can!

    Welcome Stefanie Mitchell,

Since this is a public forum, we will hide your personal identifiable information, and I have sent that image of yours containing your personal identifiable information in a private message so we can work together to resolve the issue.

Thank you for posting in the Microsoft Q&A forum.

To help narrow down the cause, could you please confirm:

    • Are you signing in with a personal Microsoft account (Outlook.com, Hotmail.com, Live.com, etc.) or a work/school account?
    • Can you sign in successfully to the Microsoft Store with the same account?
    • Does the issue occur on all networks, such as both your home network and a mobile hotspot?

In the meantime, please try these quick checks:

Step 1: Verify the Microsoft Account Sign-in service

    • Press Windows + R > type services.msc and press Enter.
    • Find Microsoft Account Sign-in Assistant
    • Make sure its status is Running and Startup type is Automatic.

Step 2: Check date and time settings

    • Open Settings > Time & language > Date & time
    • Turn on Set time automatically and Set time zone automatically
    • Select Sync now

    Step 3: Reset network components

    • Open Command Prompt as Administrator.
    • Run the following commands one at a time: netsh winsock reset netsh int ip reset ipconfig /flushdns
    • Restart the PC.

Step 4: Test without VPN or proxy

    • Open Settings > Network & internet > Proxy
    • Temporarily turn off any proxy that is enabled.
    • If you use a VPN, disconnect it and test again.
