    Hi Brian Cooke

I understand you are having problem with not receiving new email notifications and/or the unread count in Outlook for iOS. I am happy to help you. Could you confirm:

    • What iPhone model and iOS version are you on?
    • What Outlook app version are you using?
    • Which account type is affected, and is it one account or all accounts?
    • Are you missing both banner/lock-screen notifications and the badge count, or only the badge?

    Meanwhile, please follow these steps:

    1) Make sure Outlook mobile Do not disturb is not enabled

    • Open Outlook on the iPhone.
    • In the Inbox, open the left menu.
    • Tap the Do not disturb control and ensure it’s not set to mute notifications.

    2) Re-enable push notifications

Turning off push notifications disables Background App Refresh, which can prevent mail from being fetched in the background and stop badge counts from updating in real time.

    • iOS Settings > scroll to Outlook > Notifications.
    • Turn Allow Notifications on (and sounds if desired).
    • In Outlook > Settings > Notifications, make sure Mail notifications are enabled for the desired scope (All/Focused/None).

    3) Fix the red badge count specifically (ensure both iOS and Outlook badge settings are correct)

    • iOS Settings > Outlook > Notifications > turn on Badge App Icon.
    • In Outlook > Settings > Badge Count: Select All (counts all unread mail) or Focused Inbox (counts unread in Focused only).

    4) Refresh Outlook’s local state by resetting the account inside the app

If Outlook is showing incomplete/incorrect data (including delayed badges/alerts), force closing and then using Reset Account to refresh the account on the device.

    • Force close Outlook and reopen it.
    • If still not updating: Outlook > Settings > Settings > select the affected email account > Reset Account.

    5) Confirm the iOS version is supported

If the device is behind, please update iOS.

Please tell me how it goes. If the problem persists, please don’t hesitate to reply to this thread and I will be happy to help. Have a lovely day!
