We are currently experiencing an issue where the OneDrive status column/icons are not showing on many computers. This happens on both existing laptops used daily and newly set up laptops during the first-time sync.

Although files are still syncing to the cloud successfully when updated, the OneDrive status icons are missing in File Explorer. When the status is not shown, some OneDrive functions such as file sharing are also not available.

We have tried several troubleshooting steps, including:

  • Unlinking this PC and signing in again
  • Reinstalling OneDrive
  • Clearing cache and restarting Explorer

However, the issue still persists.

We have just realized that this issue happens on devices that updated OneDrive to version 26.070.0414.0001. Devices still using the older version 26.063.0405.0002 are working properly.

The issue appears to be related to the OneDrive update to version 26.095.0519.0003. I unlinked the OneDrive account and signed in again, and it is now working properly.

I had the same issue with the missing OneDrive Status Icons. I downloaded and installed 2026-07 Preview Update (KB5101684) (26200.8973) from Settings: Windows Update, restarted my PC and the Icons have all returned.
