To verify age on a Microsoft account after skipping the prompt, update the birth date on the Microsoft account profile and, if needed, complete any parental consent or age-verification steps that appear.
- Go to the Microsoft account profile page and sign in with the same Microsoft account used on Minecraft/PS5. Use the profile edit option to check and, if appropriate, correct the date of birth, then select Save.
- If the account’s birthdate indicates a child/underage account, Microsoft may require parental consent. In that case, follow the on‑screen prompts to request or provide consent. If prompted, a parent/guardian should sign in with their own Microsoft account from the consent email or via the consent/sign‑in flow and approve the child account.
- If the system still treats the account as underage even though the actual user is above statutory age, use the interactive tool linked under “Why am I required to provide consent even though I am above statutory age?” to be guided to the correct steps to fix the birthdate/age status.
- After updating the birthdate and completing any consent/verification, sign out of Minecraft on PS5, then sign back in with the same Microsoft account so the updated age/consent status is recognized.
Note: For true child accounts, changing the date of birth to make the account an adult is not supported as a way to bypass family restrictions. In that case, a parent/guardian must manage permissions through the family settings instead.
