I am losing access to an old email address account and need to move my MS subscriptions to my new one. I have a MS account set up for both old and new. How can I move it?

Thank you.

When you subscribe to Microsoft 365, that gets permanently associated to the Microsoft account used as a digital licence, there is no method provided to move the licence to another account.

You would need to cancel the existing subscription using the steps on the link below, then take out a new subscription on a new Microsoft account.

Before you do that, when a Microsoft 365 subscription is cancelled or expires, you will loose access to the 1TB of OneDrive storage that comes with the subscription, you will need to ensure you have a safe local copy of your files on your PC to ensure against data loss.

Microsoft consumer subscriptions (such as Microsoft 365 Family, Personal, Basic, or Premium) cannot be moved from one Microsoft account to another. Subscriptions, purchases, and data are tied to the specific Microsoft account (the sign-in identity), and there is no supported way to merge or transfer them between accounts.

To keep using Microsoft 365 under the new email/Microsoft account, the practical options are:

    1. Let the existing subscription on the old account run until it expires, then purchase a new subscription on the new account.
    2. If the subscription was purchased in a specific region and a region change is also needed, cancel the existing subscription, let it expire, then buy a new subscription under the new account and desired region.

If access to the old email sign-in is being lost but the Microsoft account itself still exists, ensure that the sign-in alias and recovery information on that Microsoft account are updated before losing access, so it remains usable for as long as the subscription is active.
