Is there seriously no "Save all attachments" function in Outlook?

I sent myself a bunch of image files from my phone. The resulting message is several screens high.

The whole point of the message was to get the files onto the computer, but Outlook now lacks any apparent means of saving attachments. A quick search reveals a lot of incorrect claims about controls that don't exist.

In the New outlook version 1.2026.818.100 this option to save all attachments is either removed or has glitched to not be available in some way. This is a very normal and expected feature to have in an email app but each new version of Outlook just seems to have more issues like this every time where the work around is, "find a more inefficient way to do things". Outlook is one of the worst designed email systems I've ever seen and just finds new ways to not work or add in features that no on asked for and makes our workflow bogged down. Answers like these aren't even that helpful because they offer up information that's outdate and not relevant.

You are correct.

You need to start a new thread using the "Ask a question" button at the top of this page to create a new Question and include the details for your specific problem and what steps you have already tried to fix it.

This provides much higher visibility to your issue than adding on to an existing post, which is only seen by people who are already following this question.

There shouldn't be a need to ask a new question, because this question is current. The problem existed when it was asked, and nothing has changed. The proffered answer was wrong the day it was provided.

I'm running New Outlook for Windows 1.2026.720.100 (Client 20260904006.08), just tested, and the option is there for me:

I would suggest that you start a new thread using the "Ask a question" button at the top of this page to create a new Question and focus on the specific issue of the missing option in your version of New Outlook for Windows.

True, the "Save All Attachments" produces a ZIP file. Unlike Classic Outlook which allows you to select a folder to download to. If you don't like this part, you can Vote for and Comment on this existing Feature Request:

Thank you for confirming your build.

In the new Outlook for Windows, the attachment experience is closer to Outlook on the web and in some builds, the classic “Save All Attachments…” dialog is not exposed. That’s why you may not see Save all attached documents option.

Here are the reliable ways you can save your images right now:

Option 1: Use the attachment preview’s Save controls

Open the email and select (or right‑click) an attachment to open its preview.
At the top of the preview window, use Save as or Save to OneDrive.
Repeat this for each attachment.

Option 2: Use Outlook on the web

If you open the same message in Outlook on the web, you can choose Download all to download a single .zip file containing all attachments. Then simply extract the images to your preferred folder.

Option 3: Switch back to Classic Outlook temporarily

You can switch to Classic Outlook, where the Save all attachments feature is still available. This allows you to save all files at once before returning to the new Outlook experience.

Thank you for sharing your experience with saving image attachments in the new Outlook for Windows.

From my testing, you can save documents by selecting Save All Attachments beneath the image files, or by choosing Save All to OneDrive.

Hard to be sure from your images, but it looks like those are embedded images, not attachments. i.e. They were inserted/pasted into the body of the email.

If you click on the image and it opens in a new dialog. It's Embedded.
