Using New Outlook on Windows for professional communication and productivity
Welcome to the Microsoft Q&A forum.
Thank you very much for reaching out regarding your domain configuration. I appreciate you bringing this up, and I’m happy to help explain what's going on with your domain and how you can check your DNS records.
The TXT, MX, and CNAME records are part of your domain’s DNS (Domain Name System) settings. These records control important functions such as email delivery, domain verification, and connections to third‑party services.
You can follow the steps below to check the current DNS records for your domain:
Step 1 - Check the domain status in Microsoft 365 Admin Center
1/ Sign in to the Microsoft 365 Admin Center using an admin account.
(If you do not have admin permissions, please contact your IT administrator for assistance.)
2/ Navigate to Settings > Domains.
3/ Review the domain status:
- If the status shows Healthy, select the domain and click DNS records to review the DNS information that Microsoft 365 expects.
-
- If the status shows Incomplete setup or indicates an error, please proceed to Step 2.
Note: The Microsoft 365 Admin Center shows the overall domain status and expected DNS configuration, but it does not display or manage all DNS records currently published for your domain.
Step 2 - Review and update DNS records at your domain provider
If your domain status is Incomplete setup or shows DNS‑related errors, please check and update your DNS records directly with your domain provider:
- Sign in to the platform where your domain was purchased or is currently managed (for example: GoDaddy, Namecheap, Google Domains, Cloudflare, or a similar provider).
- Locate your domain from the domain list and open the DNS, Manage DNS, DNS Settings, or Domain Management section.
- Review and update the TXT, MX, and CNAME records to ensure they match the required configuration.
- After making any changes, return to the Microsoft 365 Admin Center and refresh the domain status to confirm whether the setup is now marked as Healthy.
If you are unsure which provider is hosting your DNS, or if the domain is managed by another person or team, you may need to contact your IT administrator or domain provider to confirm access and configuration.
