Hello M,
Thank you for posting your question in the Microsoft Q&A forum!
I understand that you are having issue with OneDrive. I truly understand how you feel. Let me assist you go through this situation.
Please give these basic troubleshoot a try:
- Update and hard-reset the Android client
- Update OneDrive from Google Play.
- Then: Settings > Apps > OneDrive > Storage > Clear Data & Clear Cache > reopen OneDrive and sign in again.
- This fully refreshes the app’s secure storage and re-establishes the Vault token.
- Re‑authenticate Personal Vault cleanly
- Open OneDrive > Personal Vault > unlock with your second factor.
- If prompted to “set up” again, complete setup and create the PIN/biometric. Several users report that re‑setup makes the files reappear (some even matched the phone’s screen‑lock PIN).
- Disable battery restrictions for OneDrive
- Settings > Apps > OneDrive > Battery > set to Unrestricted (or disable optimization).
- Secure folders can time out or fail to refresh under aggressive battery management.
- Switch networks & test a small upload
- Try a different Wi‑Fi or mobile data, then upload a small image/doc directly into Vault from Android.
- This checks whether the “refresh” error is network‑related and forces a fresh sync path.
- Try mobile web as a temporary workaround
- On the phone, visit onedrive.live.com, unlock Personal Vault, and verify files.
- If the web shows content, the issue is almost certainly the Android app state.
Note: Please understand that our initial response does not always resolve the issue immediately. However, with your help and more detailed information, we can work together to find a solution.
Quick check to avoid hidden blockers:
- Confirm you’re signed into the same Microsoft account on all devices.
- Ensure Authenticator/PIN/biometric are active and not failing silently.
- Verify storage isn’t full (OneDrive quota), as Vault operations can fail when at limit.
- One more thing, if you use Samsung Gallery > OneDrive integration, or other apps that write into OneDrive, keep their background access enabled; strict background limits can cause “refresh” errors in secure folders.
I hope this will help with your situation. Please feel free to reach back if you have further update or more questions.
Best Regards,
