I recently purchased a new Lenovo laptop and went from Windows 10 on my old laptop to Windows 11 on the new one. Now I cant print on my Epson WF-2930 Printer because it doesn't recognize it? After talking with the Epson tech for an hour or so and trying many things, he said because I set the printer up initially for windows 10 they would have to reprogram the printer for Widows 11 and it would cost me $50? Sounds crazy that going from Windows 10 to 11 would cause this problem and Epson wants to charge me to fix their issue? Any have this problem and maybe a solution?

Hi Jeffrey Warren, I can imagine how frustrating this is you just upgraded to a new laptop and expected everything to work only to hit a roadblock with your printer and then be told it’ll cost extra to fix.

To fix your Epson WF‑2930 after upgrading to Windows 11 remove all old Epson drivers and software restart your laptop then install the official Windows 11 driver and Smart Panel from Epson site. Reset the printer network settings reconnect it to Wifi and if Windows still doesn’t find it add the printer manually using its IP address. You can also run Epson Connection Checker if needed.

When you try to print does the printer show up in Windows at all and if so is it listed as offline or does it give an error message?

Best regards

Lucky

It sounds like you're experiencing issues with your Epson WF-2930 printer after upgrading to Windows 11. This is not uncommon, as printer drivers and compatibility can sometimes be affected by operating system changes. Here are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the issue without needing to pay for reprogramming:

    1. Update Printer Drivers: Ensure that you have the latest drivers for your Epson WF-2930 printer. You can visit the Epson website to download the appropriate drivers for Windows 11.
    2. Check Printer Settings: Go to "Settings" > "Devices" > "Printers & scanners" on your Windows 11 laptop. Make sure your printer is listed there and set as the default printer. If it's not listed, try adding it again.
    3. Run the Printer Troubleshooter: Windows 11 has a built-in troubleshooter that can help identify and fix printing issues. You can access it by going to "Settings" > "Update & Security" > "Troubleshoot" > "Additional troubleshooters" > "Printer".
    4. Clear Print Queue: Sometimes, a stuck print job can cause issues. Clear the print queue by going to "Devices and Printers", right-clicking on your printer, and selecting "See what's printing". Cancel any stuck jobs.
    5. Reinstall the Printer: If the above steps do not work, try uninstalling the printer from your computer and then reinstalling it. This can often resolve any configuration issues.

If you follow these steps and still cannot get your printer to work, it may be worth contacting Epson support for further assistance, as they can provide specific guidance for your printer model and Windows 11 compatibility.
