OneDrive data storage in Microsoft account

When I open Outlook/file/office account, connected services shows OneDrive - personal, plus my Microsoft account email address.

OneDrive has been uninstalled on my pc.

When I opened Microsoft account, there is data storage (cloud?) against OneDrive.

Can this storage be deleted, and would it then stop the entry in my Office Outlook?

Hello Kenneth Starick, thanks for posting this in our community.

No, you cannot completely remove OneDrive from a Microsoft account because it is a core service tied to the account. Removing OneDrive from Office does not affect your Microsoft account. The entry will disappear from Office apps, but the cloud storage remains available if you ever need it.

Office apps such as Outlook, Word, and Excel link to connected services for features like saving files to the cloud. Even if you uninstall the OneDrive desktop app, your Microsoft account still includes OneDrive storage by default. This is part of the account, not the app.

Hope this clarifies your question.

Kind regards,

John Oli
