2024 and still no change it seems, I can't believe some Intel Celeron processors can upgrade and this Core-i7-7820HK can't do it.
Why Intel Core i7-7820HK CPU @ 2.90Ghz is not supported for Windows 11

Intel® Core™ i7-7820HQ1
Intel® Core™ i7-7820X
This 2 CPU from the same series are compatible but
Intel® Core™ i7-7820HK is not compatible for windows 11. HK is in terms off performance batter than 7820HQ and 7820X.

Check the Specifications where 7820HK doesn't support vPro Tech,Trusted Execution Test and Stable Image Platform Program (SIPP) whereas 7820HQ does, these might be the requirements for stable functioning of the current iteration of Windows 11. I think this might be bypassed virtually later on.

Richard Kokes 36 Reputation points2021-10-21T23:28:26.007+00:00 The thing is I am already running windows 11 as part of the windows insider program and I haven't experienced any problems. So I cant see
why there would be a problem supporting this processor. Unless there are more recent builds that have come out that I wasn't offered.
According to System - About my version is 22000.282 Windows 11 Pro -

Frank Menrath 0 Reputation points2025-02-19T21:34:19.28+00:00 I think so too. It's unbelievable that they can't manage that. You buy a notebook for a lot of money with a supposedly modern processor and then it's less future-proof than the old processors.
