I was not able to join a Microsoft 365 Family (subscription), but there was no error message. When I clicked on the invite link, I simply landed on the Microsoft 365 Family dashboard showing a family with me as the only member. There was no option to accept the invitation.

I managed to solve the issue the following way:

The family admin (the account owning the Microsoft 365 Family subscription) needed to send the invitation to the new family member not via the Microsoft 365 Family subscription page, but via the Microsoft 365 Family dashboard page. It seems like creating an invitation link or an invitation email via the subscription page is broken.

Neither solutions from @BlubX42 or @Pong3 worked for me. What worked was to add a member from the Microsoft Family Safety app, and accept the invitation there.

I had the same issue. I was able to get past it without needing the organizer. (You don't need an active subscription to do these steps:)

    1. Click the invite link and go to the dashboard for the empty family.
    2. Send an invitation to another address to join your empty family.
    3. Go back to the original real invitation from the organizer and try to join again, click join, it will now tell you you're already in a family.
    4. Click the link to manage your existing family, and remove yourself from the empty family.
    5. Go back to the original invitation link again and it will now let you join the real family group from the original invite.

    Hope that helps!
