    This did it for me! You do have to be real quick killing the process the first time you run Onedrive, otherwise you have to start over again.

    1. Uninstall/delete all Onedrive files, plists, cache, etc. as referenced in other articles
    2. Download an older version of Onedrive
    3. Open up Activity Monitor and search for Onedrive
    4. Install Onedrive while keeping your eye on the Activity Monitor
    5. Once install is complete, run Onedrive
    6. As soon as you see the onedrive autoupdater start in Activity Monitor, kill the process, and keep killing it and any Onedrive updaters that spawn until they spawn no more.
    7. At this point, Onedrive will go through it's "Welcome to Onedrive" script and configuration for your account and OneDrivre folder.
    8. Once that's complete, do the steps in the above article, removing plists.

    That's what did it for me!

    Thanks everyone for the invaluable guidance. I'm on day 2 of Onedrive working and not updating.

    Too bad Microsoft couldn't figure this out on their own, and ever more too bad they don't have an option for disabling auto updates with Onedrive.

    Hi Joshua,

    check out this post that helped me solve the problem:

    https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/msoffice/forum/all/my-fix-for-onedrive-on-macos-catalina-1015x/de6ab37d-fa23-42b5-b5df-fbf05e09887b

    shortly,

    1. you have to download OneDrive version 23.054.0313 from https://hansbrender.com/all-onedrive-versions/#tabmac
    2. delete your current OneDrive app (not the mounted folder) from "Applications" folder in Finder
    3. then either go to "Activity Monitor" and be fast with stoping all different versions of OneDrive updater, including: StandaloneUpdater, StandaloneUpdaterDaemon, OneDrive Updater, and OneDriveUpdaterDaemon

    or you can alternatively disconnect your device from the internet so that the updaters wouldn't be able to work!

    1. install the correct version of OneDrive
    2. run the lines suggested above in the terminal $ launchctl remove com.microsoft.OneDriveStandaloneUpdater $ sudo launchctl remove com.microsoft.OneDriveStandaloneUpdaterDaemon $ sudo launchctl remove com.microsoft.OneDriveUpdaterDaemon $ sudo rm /Library/LaunchAgents/com.microsoft.OneDriveStandaloneUpdater.plist $ sudo rm /Library/LaunchDaemons/com.microsoft.OneDriveStandaloneUpdaterDaemon.plist $ sudo rm /Library/LaunchDaemons/com.microsoft.OneDriveUpdaterDaemon.plist

    hope it helps!

    Btw, turning off the auto updates in the Microsoft updater app does not work for One Drive ... which makes no sense and there is no ability to turn it off in One Drive preferences.

    GoogleDrive, Box, dropbox, Adobe don't have these problems and support Catalina - there is no reason for Microsoft to abandon its customers that are Mac Catalina users.

    Yes - this needs to be fixed. The only thing you can do is upon opening the one drive app .0313 is to then immediately open the activity monitor and force quit the one drive updater. Its not ideal but it works and you will need to do it every time you reboot or open the app. I would also turn off "open at log in" in one drive preferences so that the app does not open and update automatically. That way you can open it, turn off the updater asap and have v .0313 working.

    Hello TIA,

    You could, may be, try this one:

    1/ Edit this .plist (if it's still in place):

    $ sudo nano /Library/LaunchAgents/com.microsoft.OneDriveStandaloneUpdater.plist

    2/ Find that line:

    <key>RunAtLoad</key>

    <true/>

    3/ Change with:

    <key>RunAtLoad</key>

    <false/>

    4/ Reinstall OneDrive.

    I didn't test it (so happy with my still running v23.054.0313...) but it should prevent any update.

    Best regards

    Thanks for the replys y'all. I tried the first method and this method (reinstalled it with brew). It keeps updating to 23.066.0326. Do you have another idea?

    Kind Regards
