Every time I open either Powerpoint of Excel a pop up that says "Microsoft Powerpoint wants to use your confidential information stored in "adalcache" in your keychain to allow this, enter the login keychain password".

If I enter my password it pops up again and again and again, if I hit deny it will pop up 30 more times until it finally disappears.

How do I make this stop?

Hi Gillian,

Thanks for posting in the community.

Note: If you have received an email to let you call a phone number, just ignore it as it's SPAM. The SPAM has been deleted and the sender has been reported.

Please try to remove keychains on Mac and check if the issue still exists:

  1. Close all Office applications.
  2. Go to Finder>Applications>Utilities>Keychain Access and remove the following password entries:

Microsoft Office Identities Cache 2

Microsoft Office Identities Settings 2

3.Search for all occurrences of ADAL in the keychain and remove all those entries if present.

  1. Restart Mac and open Office applications again.

If you have any updates, please feel free and come back to share with us.

Regards,

George
