Lock MS Planner template so that users can copy the plan but are not able to modify it

Hello, 

I am currently developing a To-Do list within MS Planner. This To-Do list will always be the same for a certain group of people and I would like to distribute this list to various persons so that they can copy the initial list but are not able to change the initial "template". Is there such a function??

Hi Max,

Thanks for taking your time and providing brief explanation about your requirement.

After reading your explanation part, I totally understand that your looking for to lock the Plan in the Planner to prevent it from editing and make the members added to that Plan can copy the tasks. Simply making the plan as template and creating a new plan with this template.

Currently Planner is having the features to Copy a Plan but Planner is limited to lock a Plan from editing and we understand how importance this feature to your scenario, apologies about the limitation. Given situation, please add your idea in Planner UserVoice.

    Hi Chitrahaas,

    thanks for your quick answer. I will try to explain myself a little bit more detailed:

    What I want to have is one plan with a certain set of tasks.  To this plan, I want to invite a certain group of people who could use this set of tasks for their projects. Therefore, they could duplicate this "template" by copying the plan and name it according to the individual project having the same To-Dos as the template and then start working in their project-specific plan and change tasks, complete tasks, invite project team members etc. 

    In case there are various persons invited to the initial template and it is not somehow locked, I have the fear, that somebody could start working within the template, forget to copy it and thereby make it unusable for the rest of the group. Therefore, I am looking for a way to have one plan which can only be copied but not edited before it has been copied.

    I hope this makes it a little bit clearer and that you may have an idea for my issue!

    Hi Max,

    As per my understanding about your description, you’re creating a Tasks in Microsoft Planner in a Bucket and want to distribute this task to the group of people where they can it use as template to create a same kind of task. If my understanding is correct, Microsoft Planner can’t distribute the tasks but where members of the Plan can copy the task to other Plans.
