Unable to Move/Drag Window using New Teams

I switched to "New Teams" about a week ago but since switching I am unable to move the window by dragging the title bar. I can resize, but dragging on the title bar does nothing:

I'm using Windows 10 Pro 10.0.19045 with a multi-monitor setup. I've done multiple restarts and had a windows update since starting to use it and the issue persists.

I had this issue until I installed the latest webview2 runtime installer (using the evergreen standalone installer). https://developer.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-edge/webview2#download-section

Teams uses WebView2 and my guess is that if you installed an older version teams would try to use this version - but if you had never installed it before it would install the latest for you.

About 6-7 of my colleagues had the same issue, and after installing the evergreen webview2 runtime on each affected machine they all work normally now.

Hello,

If anyone happens to get the same issue and nothing helps - reinstall WebView2. That's how I fixed it.

Take care

FYI, you must be a local admin for the repair to work. Our users, by default, are not. Looking into a way to keep Webview2 updated.

Do you know if using the Evergreen installer will keep Webview2 updated automatically going forward? This article seems to say that, but I'd like to know for sure, before recommending a "fix" for my organization. Our users are not admins on their machines.

I noticed that my Webview2 is keeping pace with Edge (versions are the same) but I am a local admin. Another user's, who is not a local admin, version of Edge was current (version 120.0...) but their Webview2 was not (version 101...). I assume Webview2 has never been updated since it was first installed (as part of our OS image). Oh, also, I'm running Windows 11 while they are on Windows 10.

What is a good solution to update all our users? Maybe SCCM can keep it updated?

I ultimately solved it by allowing Edge to update. Now I can move Teams. Though it still crashes if I try to share my HDR monitor.

But guess what? After the update now there are SO many Edge-related processes that just seem to want to hang around. :(

Why does everything have to be tied to an agenda? Could we please just have products that work on their own and don't try to drag us kicking and screaming into using things we don't want?
