Howto remove one account under email&accounts

Good evening,

I have this problem I do not know how I was able to do that. The majot outcome I see is Microsoft Store not working, neither to update existing apps neither buying and downloading new ones.

I have a laptop I access to using my personal account I used when I accessed the first time, using my personal email (******@yyyyyy.it).

Then I worked as a free lance using this laptop and having access to Customers's mail & office with ******@zzzzzz.it.

Now, I understood the problem: two accounts in email&accounts (******@yyyyyy.it and ******@zzzzzz.it)

If I click on manage below ******@zzzzzz.it, I come to the problem: I'm directly connected with account "name surname-Ext" linked to ******@yyyyyy.it as a work account.

I surely made a mistake in the past creating this account under an organization.

Is there any suggestion how to remove this "name surname-Ext" from that organization?

Or, is there any suggestion to have only my personal account as email&accounts in Windows?

Thanks in advance

Alex

I understood that one azure directory yyyyyy.it exists in the cloud, I'm not able to identify the administrator to ask to be removed.

Hello, this is Emily.

To remove this business account, you simply need to go to Settings > Accounts > Access Work or School. Note, it is not "Email and Accounts" page.

In the Access Work or School page, you can select this business account, then click on Disconnect.

Restart Windows after that and this account should be gone.

Let see I understood: my installation is in some way "corrupted" on account side, at least the part linked with Store (right now, apart small strange but only boring issues, the installation works fine).

You think that if I repeat same procedure (after media creation) to install (keeping all my files of course :-)), I could solve the problem of the store.

    Did I correctly understand?

ps: I was wrong replying to a previous message so I randomly clicked on what I was asked ... I hope this would be not a problem.

Ah I see.. you forced a Win11 onto the unsupported CPU.

While the store issue is not necessarily related to this, but I can understand why you wouldn't want to shake things up.

Yes, I believe there is some level of corruption. A repair install can hopefully address that.

Another option is to unlink your current user profile with your Microsoft account, go to Settings > Accounts > Your info, click on "sign in as local user instead". Then restart the computer, sign in. Then do the following:

Hold down Windows + R keys, type in netplwiz and press enter. Then click on Add to add your Microsoft account as a separate user. Then make it admin.

Restart the computer, and sign into the new user. See if it works.

If it works, you can migrate your data from old user profile to new user profile.

Go to C:\users\old user folder. Copy your personal files from there to C:\users\new user folder.

In this case your assumption is account's registries are corrupted.

I followed your instructions but till now I was not able to download an application (still working), too long for me and I'm not positive but I'll wait to see eventual message. For sure behavior is different, with old account error is almost immediate and same message "something...." but if only registries are involved (otherwise copying fron old to new would mean to bring the old problem to the new problem :-)

One thing triggered my attention: I installed for example wsl or kali NOT using the store but I see them as apps of the store: does this mean I'm not receiving any updates about them due to my problem with the store?

If this would be the case, if the second option you suggested should not work I think I will proceed with first option, reinstall keeping files & application.

But, I also get the doubt of something wrong on the backend side. I use same account on a desktop at home, now I cannot check as I'll be back home in a week, that will be the first thing I'll do once home.

In synthesis, problem could be gone, let's wait till message will appear. I'll check store on desktop with same account (or ... at least same account in the cloud). That could be a great hint

    Good News!!

This morning I checked the new cloud account and I found defaults apps signed as updated yesterday. But no evidence of the new I tried to install.

Then I made a change on security of Packages folders of cloud account adding the group Users with full control. No change.

So I locked cloud account and logged on with local account, thinking to apply the same change to folder.

But before I opened the store and .... I found everything updated, plus the new products asked for in the recent days. PLEASE NOTE THIS PRODUCTS ARE NOT YET DOWNLOADED. LAST SUCCESSFULL DOWNLOAD IS ON AUG, 18TH 2024.

But I see progresses here, I do not have anymore the error.

At this point, my assumption is that something runs in the background .... in the cloud. It could be I made some mistake in the reboots sequence, but my assumption would be in accordance with the error message I got downloading whatsapp (see a previous message)

I'll keep you posted in case of other evolutions :-)

thanks agai for your appreciated support
