Hi MD_440, that's great, I am glad you have regained admin control of your PC.
Lost Admin access on my own laptop after renaming my account name.
Hi,
I changed my account name by doing the following run --> control userpasswords2 --> properties --> and then I renamed my account by error :(
As a consequence I lost my admin privileges and my account is now just a normal user account. Now I can't change the name again because I can't access control userpasswords2.
How do I login back as admin? Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Thanks for the quick reply. I actually figured it. I started my PC in safe mode. And then it showed me the admin account on login screen. Using this super admin account, I logged in as admin and added my regular profile to the administrators group! Now everything's back to normal!

I am Dave, I will help you with this.
The only way to reverse that change would be to restore your system to a date prior to when you made that change.
1
Start your PC, just as Windows attempts to load (spinning dots), press and hold Power Button for 5 - 10 seconds to perform a Hard Shut Down
Do this twice
On the third start Windows will boot into the Recovery Environment and from there you can access System Repair, Safe Mode, Command Prompt... etc.
Go to Troubleshoot - Advanced Option - Startup Settings and click Restart
Upon restart, press 4 to enter Safe Mode

If you are blocked form restoring your system due to lack of admin privileges, you will need to create a bootable Windows 10 USB on another working PC and boot your PC from that, then rather than installing Windows 10, select ‘Repair this Computer’ that will give you access to the Recovery Environment from there

to download the Media Creation Tool (Click on Download Tool Now), with that you can download the latest Windows 10 ISO (Select Create Installation Media for Another PC), you can create a bootable USB flash drive (min 8GB) using that tool
Then, Boot your PC from the Installation Media you just created (change Boot Order in your BIOS)
