When starting after sleep Marvell AVASTAR Wireless-AC Network Controller always has an error and therefore I have to disabled it and the enabled it to restart the WiFi connection. I do not want to leave network controllers on during sleep. This started happening after the June 2nd update. Please fix at your end and reissue the update. I do not really want to have to disable and reenable the controller every time. Thank you.

Turns out the problem is related to Modern Standby, and the driver being turned off by Power settings, and not beign turned back on.

Unfortunately with "Modern Standby" you cannot disable the option "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" in Device Manager.

But there is a fix, to disable "Modern Standby" which allows you to then go into power manager and make the change!

Execute the following commands from an elevated command prompt (Run Command Prompt as Administrator):

    reg add HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Power /v PlatformAoAcOverride /t REG_DWORD /d 0

NOTE to undo this, run the following command from an elevated command prompt: reg delete "HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Power" /v PlatformAoAcOverride /f

Once you do the above, you can restart your laptop and now you can go into Device Manager, find Marvell Avastar and the "Power Management" tab will now be available, where you can uncheck "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power"

My wifi has worked perfectly since!!!

Solution: Please raise the issue with Microsoft - this forum can't help really as we don't know how to fix it. Here is the link (it takes 2 min): https://support.microsoft.com/en-gb/windows/send-feedback-to-microsoft-with-the-feedback-hub-app-f59187f8-8739-22d6-ba93-f66612949332

I've just submitted a feedback item through the 'Feedback Hub' in Windows - I am led to believe this is how to report Windows update triggered driver issues. I guess we'll see...

I have the same problem on my Surface Pro 6 with the Marvell AVASTAR controller since the last update. I have to uninstall/reinstall the controller or restart to enable WiFi & Bluetooth temporarily until the next time it goes to sleep.

I'm seeing the exact same behavior on my maybe 6 year old Microsoft Surface Laptop running the Marvell AVASTAR Wireless-AC Network Controller. Any advice or suggestions on how to work around this if they don't fix the broken update?
