Because Microsoft 365 Personal Classic is not appearing on the cancellation page, do not complete the cancellation; first determine who manages the subscription, then escalate to Microsoft Support if it is Microsoft-billed and still active.

    Check who manages the subscription

    1. Sign in to Microsoft account → Services & subscriptions using the account that purchased Microsoft 365.
    2. Locate Microsoft 365 Personal and select Manage.
    3. Check the available controls:
      • Manage, Cancel, or Change payment means Microsoft normally manages the subscription.
      • Limited or missing billing controls usually mean it is managed by Apple, Google Play, Amazon, or another retailer. Microsoft cannot modify third-party-managed subscriptions; the provider must handle any available plan change.[^1^](https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/accounts-billing/subscriptions/[Subscription ID] "Where can I manage my Microsoft 365 subscription? | Microsoft Support")

    If Microsoft bills the subscription

The supported downgrade path is Manage → Cancel subscription—sometimes labelled Upgrade or Cancel—and then selecting the lower-feature plan offered on the cancellation page. This schedules the new plan for the next renewal rather than cancelling immediately.[^2^](https://support.microsoft.com/accounts-billing/subscriptions/[Subscription ID] "Switch between Microsoft 365 subscriptions")

Since you have already opened that page and Classic is absent:

    • Do not select “I don’t want my subscription.” That proceeds with cancellation.
    • If the account instead shows Turn on recurring billing, the subscription is already set to expire, so the normal cancellation choices are no longer displayed.[^3^](https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/accounts-billing/subscriptions/[Subscription ID] "Cancel a Microsoft 365 subscription")
    • If Microsoft manages it, recurring billing remains active, and Classic still is not offered, use Contact Support from Microsoft’s subscription-switching page. Ask them to check whether Microsoft 365 Personal Classic is available for this subscription/account. The available evidence does not establish that every Personal subscriber is eligible for the Classic offer.

    If another provider bills it

Manage the subscription through that provider’s account or support channel. Some third-party providers may not support switching plans, and Microsoft cannot change or refund subscriptions billed by them.[^1^](https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/accounts-billing/subscriptions/[Subscription ID] "Where can I manage my Microsoft 365 subscription? | Microsoft Support")

Unfortunately, AFAIK, the downgrade option is no longer available. This actually is implied if you review the From/To options a https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/accounts-billing/subscriptions/switch-between-microsoft-365-subscriptions

If you want to completely avoid the subscription cost and AI features , you'd need to cancel your 365 plan and purchase a lifetime license for a standalone desktop suite like Office Home https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/p/office-home-2024/cfq7ttc0pqvj.
