Install and activate Office 2024

2. Select Sign in and use the account associated with Office 2024:

3. Select Install apps. With a work or school account, select Microsoft 365 apps if that option appears.

5. Select Continue → Agree → Install, enter the Mac login password when requested, and wait for installation to finish.
6. Open Launchpad → Microsoft Word, select Get Started, and sign in with the same account to activate Office.^2^

If a product key was previously redeemed, do not redeem it again. The resulting Office license should already be associated with the account originally used.^3^

If Office 2024 is not listed

Check https://account.microsoft.com/services while signed in with the account used for the original purchase or activation.

• If Office appears, install it from that account.
• If it does not appear, try any other Microsoft account that may have been used for the purchase.
• If the school supplied Office, contact the school’s Microsoft 365 administrator to confirm that the license remains assigned to the education account.
• If it was purchased through Apple, check the Apple ID used for that purchase.^1^

If activation says the device limit was reached

Office Home 2024 is a one-time purchase licensed for installation on one Mac.^4^ If Microsoft still records the damaged Mac as the activated device:

1. Open Microsoft Support at https://support.microsoft.com/contactus/
2. Select Office → Get home support.
3. Enter Transfer license.
4. Sign in with the account used to purchase Office and ask support to unlink the inaccessible Mac so Office 2024 can be activated on the replacement.^5^
