Microsoft 365 features that help users manage their subscriptions, account settings, and billing information.
Dear Eric,
I understand how worrying it is to see charges you don't recognize. Unfortunately, as a forum moderator, I am not able to look up which account or domain these charges are linked to. My role here is limited to providing general guidance you can apply from your side. The numbers you shared are American Express transaction references, so they can't be used to identify the Microsoft subscription. The charge description on your statement is more useful. Since the two charges have different amounts and dates, they may be for two separate subscriptions, so please check each one. Here is a structured plan to help you identify the charge:
1.Identify the charge type
Review the description of the charge on your credit card statement:
- If the charge includes an invoice ID like E0XXXXXX or G0XXXXXX, it strongly suggests a business subscription or an organizational purchase.
- If there is no specific reference, it is more likely a personal product or subscription.
2: Check both personal and business accounts
If you have both a personal Microsoft account (e.g., @outlook.com, @hotmail.com) and a business Microsoft account (e.g., associated with your company or school), you will need to check both accounts for any active subscriptions or purchases:
Personal account:
- Log in to your personal Microsoft account
- Go to Services & Subscriptions to view any active subscriptions or recent purchases.
- Look for any active subscriptions that match the charge amount.
- If you see a subscription you don’t recognize or no longer use, you can cancel it directly from this page.
Alternatively, you can run this troubleshooter for locate the product: How to investigate a billing charge from Microsoft - Microsoft Support
Business account:
- If you have access to a business account, log in to the Microsoft 365 Admin Center
- Go to Billing > Your Products to check for any active subscriptions or purchases made under the business account.
3: Contact support for the correct account
You will need to contact Microsoft Support directly through the appropriate support portal to locate the product and request for a refund. Here’s how:
For personal accounts:
- Visit the Microsoft Support Portal: Contact Us - Microsoft Support
- Select the possible product and then Home support
For business accounts:
Raise the service request from the Admin Center by clicking the Help & support button in the down right corner.
For additional assistance, use this link to find the appropriate contact number: Global Customer Service phone numbers - Microsoft Support. They may ask for card details to help figure out what it is charged for and process refund if need.
I truly hope you get your issue resolved swiftly. Please know that even though I can't directly intervene, directing you to the correct, specialized support is the most effective help I can provide from my position. Should you have any further questions or need additional assistance, please don't hesitate to reach out. We're always here to help. Have a wonderful day!
