Microsoft 365 features that help users manage their subscriptions, account settings, and billing information.
For a Microsoft 365 business account, payment methods are managed in the Microsoft 365 admin center.
- To add a new payment method:
- Go to the Microsoft 365 admin center.
- If using Simplified view, select Products > View payment methods.
- If using Dashboard view, go to Bills & payments > Payment methods.
- Select Add a payment method.
- Enter the new payment details and select Save.
- To edit an existing card:
- Open Payment methods in the admin center.
- Select the More actions button (...) next to the payment method.
- Select Edit.
- Update the name, billing address, or expiration date, then select Save.
- For credit or debit cards, the security code must be entered before changes are saved.
- To change to a different card number:
- The card number on an existing payment method cannot be changed.
- Add a new payment method, then use Replace on the old payment method to move subscriptions or the billing profile to the new one.
- To replace the payment method used by subscriptions or billing:
- In Payment methods, select More actions (...) for the current payment method.
- Select Replace.
- Choose either an existing payment method or add a new one.
- Review the details and complete Replace payment method.
Important:
- Adding a payment method does not automatically assign it to subscriptions or billing profiles.
- If a card is declined, verify the card number, expiration date, name, billing address, and available funds. If the issue continues, contact the bank.
- The payment method must be issued from the same country or region as the tenant.
