Confirmed that my MS 365 personal subscription was and is active. Signed out of my MS account in desktop PPT. Reopened and signed back in to my personal MS account. Created a new PPT presentation and saved to OneDrive. Image editing tool button is still not there.

Clicked on CoPilot button at top: "Your organization has turned off automatic access. Instead, try giving Copilot access to specific content by adding it manually."

Confirmed that PPT settings were checked off as follows

    1. Open PPT and go to PPT > Preferences > Privacy.
    2. Select Manage Connected Experiences.
    3. Make sure Experiences that analyze your content and All connected experiences are enabled.
    4. Restart PPT

The question I'm trying to resolve remains unresolved.

    Welcome David Wish,

Thank you for posting to Microsoft Q&A.

I understand that you're using a Microsoft 365 Personal account on macOS and Copilot displays an"Authentication required" message but does not allow you to complete the sign-in process.

Before we continue, could you please confirm:

    • Are you using the Copilot app for macOS or Copilot in a web browser?
    • Does the error appear immediately after selecting Authentication required, or are you redirected to a Microsoft sign-in page first?
    • Which macOS version are you currently using?

In the meantime, please try these quick checks:

    • Sign out of Copilot completely, close the application, reopen it, and sign in again.
    • If you are using Safari, open Safari > Settings > Privacy and temporarily make sure Prevent cross-site tracking is turned off, then test Copilot again. Microsoft states that authentication and license validation can fail when required cookies are blocked. I am getting license validation errors with Copilot
    • Test Copilot from a private browser window at copilot.microsoft.com. This helps determine whether the issue is specific to the macOS app or affects the account everywhere. Getting started with Copilot on macOS

    Looking forward to your update.
