I have migrated Office365 from a work laptop to a personal laptop and uninstalled office 365 and then installed Office for mac 2024. I have used the remove license tool to uninstall Office365 but now when i launch Office2024 for Mac the sign in refuses to recognise my personal account associated with my Office2024 purchase. I want to launch Office2024 and not Office365 as it is a personal computer.

    Hi @RomanT

Office 2024 and Microsoft 365 use the same Word, Excel, and PowerPoint apps. The license detected after sign-in determines whether the installation runs as Office 2024 or Microsoft 365.

    1. Sign in to Microsoft account Services & subscriptions with your personal account and confirm that Office Home 2024 or Office Home & Business 2024 is listed under Products you’ve purchased.
    2. If it is listed, uninstall the current Office apps and reinstall them using the Install option shown beside that purchase.
    3. Make sure the apps were downloaded directly from Microsoft. A one-time Office license cannot activate Office apps installed from the Mac App Store.
    4. Open Word and select Sign in with another account, then enter the same personal account shown on the Services & subscriptions page.

Since you have already run the License Removal Tool, avoid repeatedly running it.

Hope this helps, please feel free to keep me updated. Have a nice day
