    Hi Thomas Neville,

Since the sign-in frequency appears to have changed recently without your involvement, it may be worth checking whether a recent update or third-party security/optimization utility has modified your lock screen or inactivity settings.

In addition to AI answer, you can try the following checks:

    1. Press Win + R, type control.exe /name Microsoft.PowerOptions and press Enter.
    2. Select Choose what closing the lid does and review any power or sleep-related settings that may be triggering the lock screen sooner than expected.
    3. If you use any security, privacy, or PC optimization software, temporarily disable it and observe whether the behavior changes.

If the issue started only recently, you may also want to check Settings > Windows Update > Update history to see whether the timing coincides with a recent system update.

Let me know if you need further assistance, feel free to ask me by clicking "Add Comment" or "Add Answer" if you cannot add comment so your response will be visible. Thanks for your effort.

This is usually controlled by the Windows sign-in requirement after inactivity.

    To change it:

    1. Open Start > Settings > Accounts > Sign-in options.
    2. On Windows 11, under Additional settings, find If you've been away, when should Windows require you to sign in again?
    3. Choose a less aggressive option from the list.

If needed, the same Sign-in options page also lets different sign-in methods be configured, including PIN (Windows Hello), Picture password, and Security key.
