Microsoft 365 features that help users manage their subscriptions, account settings, and billing information.
Hello Rhindress, Cheryl (ASD-E),
I understand how concerning it is to find an email address you do not recognize on your Microsoft account.
If you can still sign in using your phone number, please secure the account immediately:
- Open Microsoft account security, review Recent activity, and mark any activity you do not recognize by selecting This wasn’t me or Secure your account.
- Change your password to a strong, unique password that you have not used elsewhere.
- Open Manage how you sign in to Microsoft and check whether the unknown address is listed as an account alias. If it is, select Remove next to it.
- Under Advanced security options, review your verification methods and remove any unknown email address, phone number, authenticator, or device. Make sure you retain at least one verification method that you control.
- Enable two-step verification or Microsoft Authenticator after confirming that the account information is correct.
If you cannot remove the address, cannot access the security settings, or believe someone has changed the account information, follow the Microsoft’s hacked or compromised account recovery guidance.
Please note that Microsoft Q&A is a public community forum, so contributors cannot access or modify your account. Do not post the unknown email address, your phone number, recovery codes, passwords, or other personal account information here.
I hope you can secure the account successfully.
Feel free reply back to this post and update me on this issue, I'll be happy to help.
