A Microsoft file hosting and synchronization service.
This usually happens because the new OneDrive quota has not fully updated everywhere after the plan change.
- Check Manage storage and refresh the page.
- Storage upgrades can take up to 24 hours to appear.
- If the account was locked, it can take up to 2 hours after buying storage for the new quota to show.
- If the storage still shows correctly on the web but the Windows sync app still says Not enough cloud storage, unlink and relink OneDrive on the PC.
- Select the OneDrive cloud icon in the taskbar.
- Open Help & Settings > Settings.
- Open the Account tab.
- Select Unlink this PC.
- Sign in again with the same Microsoft account that has the upgraded storage.
- If the quota still does not update after waiting:
- If this is a shared Microsoft 365 subscription benefit, confirm the invitation was accepted.
- After accepting, storage changes can take 2 hours to appear. Go to Manage storage, refresh, and check again.
- If the purchased additional storage still is not reflected after the wait period:
- If it has been more than 24 hours, refresh Manage storage again.
- If it still has not updated after 48 hours, contact support.
While over quota, OneDrive can block uploading, editing, or syncing new files even though existing files remain read-only.
