Onedrive access issue

Personal OneDrive account signs in successfully, but I cannot access My files on any client.

OneDrive Web shows: “Unknown render failure. Attempted to perform an unauthorized operation.”

OneDrive for Windows shows: “Can't reach the shared library 'OneDrive'. This library was locked, archived, deleted, or its access was changed.”

Recent files are still accessible/editable, but the My Files library itself is inaccessible.

The same problem occurs on the web and OneDrive clients. Please check the backend status/access/provisioning of my personal OneDrive storage/library.

    Hi David,

I understand how concerning this is, especially when you can still open some recent files but the main My Files library is unavailable across both OneDrive on the web and the Windows app.

Since the same issue occurs on multiple clients, this may not be limited to the local OneDrive sync app. Before contacting support, please try the following:

    • Open OneDrive in an InPrivate or Incognito browser window and sign in again.
    • Check whether your OneDrive account shows any storage, frozen-account, or verification warning.
    • Visit the Microsoft services account reset page and follow any available prompts to check the account status.
    • Check the Microsoft service status page for any ongoing OneDrive issue.

If no warning is shown and My Files remains inaccessible, please contact Microsoft Support and provide the exact error messages and the Correlation ID. That information may help the support team investigate the account or OneDrive library status. If the Support Assistant appears, you can enter: “I need to speak with a live support agent about a personal OneDrive account,” and then follow the on-screen instructions.

Please note that this is a user-to-user support forum, so contributors here cannot access your account or check OneDrive’s back-end provisioning directly. Thank you for your understanding and patience. I hope the support team can help restore access to your My Files library soon.

Note: Please follow the steps in our documentation to enable e-mail notifications if you want to receive the related email notification for this thread.
