Suddenly I am unable to accept meeting invites on my desktop in New Outlook. It is also impossible to import an .ICS file in New Outlook. It is nearly 2026. When is going to have the functionality that Old Outlook had?

I can't read your screen shot to determine the error you are getting with ICS import. Can you give me the actual text or a larger screen shot please.

    Hi @Daniel Perez,

Welcome to the Microsoft Q&A forum.

Thank you for reaching out to us. I apologize for any inconvenience the issue may have caused you. Below is the information we would like to provide:

    1. Regarding adding an .ics file to the new Outlook

To add a calendar, please follow these steps:

    • Step 1: Click Add calendar.
    • User's image
    • Step 2: Enter the URL for the calendar or select the .ics file directly from your computer.
    • User's image

    1. Regarding the Accept, Decline, and Tentative options for meeting invitations

To view these options, open the meeting email in the shared mailbox and follow these steps:

    • Step 1: In the shared mailbox, click on your meeting invitation.
    • Step 2: Click here to display the options: Accept, Decline, Tentative.
    • User's image

We understand that with Outlook Classic, performing these actions is much easier. For example: When you double-click an .ics link, it automatically opens and updates in Outlook Classic, instead of requiring manual input like in the new Outlook.

In this case, we recommend that you visit the following link: Feedback Portal.

After accessing it, please create a post to share your experience using the new Outlook. This action will help you connect with others facing similar issues. When a post receives high engagement, it helps Microsoft understand user needs and may lead to similar features being added to the new Outlook in the future.
