I had an old email account with Microsoft Office 365. I want to cancel it, being that my card was charged. I cannot login to my old account because I do not have access to my old email any longer.

My old email is: ******@gmail.com

My current is ******@gmail.com

Microsoft has charged my Bank of America Card Visa ending in 7340 with $99.99. I want to cancel this.

    Hello, I understand your concern.

If there is no means to access the old email and the Microsoft account that has the subscription, the next step is to reach out to the bank to block any future related charges like this or the other option is to get it replaced with a new one.

To cancel a Microsoft 365 subscription, access is normally required to the Microsoft account that purchased it. If the subscription was bought directly from Microsoft, the standard path is to sign in at https://account.microsoft.com/services or https://account.microsoft.com/services/microsoft365, find the subscription, select Manage, then Cancel subscription.

Since access to the old account is no longer available, the practical next steps are:

    1. Check any old inboxes or records for Microsoft billing or receipt messages to identify which Microsoft account was used for the purchase.
    2. If the account can be identified, recover access to that account first, then cancel the subscription from the Services & subscriptions page.
    3. If the subscription was purchased through a third party such as Apple, Google Play, Amazon, or another retailer, cancellation must be done with that provider directly. Microsoft cannot cancel, refund, or modify billing for third-party subscriptions.
    4. If the account cannot be recovered, contact the card issuer or bank and ask them to block or stop the recurring charge while the account issue is unresolved.
    5. If the charge is unfamiliar, review the Manage your payments page to investigate the billing charge details.

    Important details:

    • If Turn on recurring billing appears instead of Manage or Cancel, the subscription is already set to expire and no further cancellation action is required.
    • Not all cancellations result in a refund. For Microsoft 365 Basic, Personal, Family, or Premium purchased from Microsoft, refund eligibility is checked after cancellation.
