To change the region in a personal Microsoft account profile from Germany to the United States:

Go to the Your info page of the Microsoft account dashboard.
Select Edit profile info.
In Country or region, select United States.

Important points:

Change the region only if the move is long-term, because items obtained in one region might not work in another.
Microsoft account balance does not transfer between regions. Spend the balance before changing the account location.
If the account region cannot be changed, common reasons include:
- the region was changed within the last three months,
- the account is suspended,
- minor-status rules differ between the current and new region.
If there is an existing Microsoft 365 subscription from the old region, it must expire or be canceled before purchasing a subscription for the new region.
