My wife has deleted her account name and I want to recovwe it

My wife managed to get inti her info settings and enter an email address that is not hers, change the priority, and then delete her proper email for the account. Is there any way I can revers this and get her account back under the proper email? I have tried just entering the email again, but it tells me that one's taken.

    Hello

    Only email address ending with outlook.com can be added back to its original Microsoft account.

    If the email address is hotmail.com, live.com or the locale variant, like outlook.de, outlook.fr, etc. Then once removed it is permanent and cannot be added back again. Microsoft doesn't allow recycling its email addresses, so it is considered "taken" even if the address was deleted.
