Hello, I had to ask for Microsoft's help today for my 365 account and BT email. I'm up and running now in classic Outlook. I do not see the 'pin' column even when sorting emails by date.

I do not have a settings cogwheel on the right hand top of outlook.

I am working in classic outlook.

I have seen other posts that suggest is not a function when using BT email. I want to keep using BT email and do not want to migrate to outlook.com email addresses.

Does it work, doesn't it work and can Microsoft make it work for all users of all email addresses.

Life was so much easier before new outlook appeared.

Pinning does not work in Classic Outlook for Windows.

The available context states that pinning is available in New Outlook for Windows and Outlook on the web, but not in Classic Outlook for Windows. That matches the missing pin option and the absence of a pin column in the Classic Outlook experience.

Using a BT email address is not the deciding factor in the provided information. The limiting factor is the Outlook version: Classic Outlook does not support pinning, while Outlook.com is a webmail service and is not the same as Outlook Classic.

Supported facts from the available information:

  1. Classic Outlook for Windows does not support pinning emails.
  2. New Outlook for Windows and Outlook on the web do support pinning.
  3. Outlook.com is webmail, not Outlook Classic, and does not replace the Classic Outlook app behavior.

So for the current setup:

  • Classic Outlook + BT email: no pin feature in the provided information.
  • New Outlook for Windows: pinning is supported.
  • Outlook on the web: pinning is supported.
