Microsoft 365 features that help users manage their subscriptions, account settings, and billing information.
Hi Lotten,
Welcome to the Microsoft Q&A forum.
First, I hope you understand that this forum is a community where users share information and support one another. Moderators are unable to directly create a support ticket on your behalf or escalate your case to the appropriate support team. However, I will do my best to assist you within the scope of what I can provide here.
For Business accounts, you will generally need to create a support ticket to receive assistance with resetting MFA for the account. Once the ticket has been created, your case may be referred to the Data Protection team if necessary, and a support agent may contact you directly to provide further assistance.
Since you mentioned that you are unable to create a ticket through the AI bot, you may consider the following workaround:
You can register a new tenant through a trial subscription and use that tenant to submit a support request regarding the tenant that is currently experiencing the issue.
To create a new tenant, you can follow these steps:
- Go to the Microsoft 365 Business Plans and Pricing page and follow the instructions to sign up for a trial subscription and create a new tenant.
- Once the new tenant has been set up, sign in to the Microsoft 365 Admin Center using an administrator account from the new tenant.
- Go to Support > Help & Support to create a support ticket.
- In the ticket, clearly explain that you are unable to access your previous Microsoft 365 Business tenant because you no longer have access to your MFA authentication method and need assistance restoring access.
- You can also ask the support agent to determine whether your case needs to be referred to the Data Protection team for ownership verification and assistance with restoring access.
You can use or adapt the following message in your support ticket:
"Hello, I'm currently unable to access my previous Microsoft 365 tenant because I no longer have access to my MFA authentication method.
I created this new tenant solely to request assistance regarding my original tenant. I would appreciate your help in verifying my identity and ownership of the tenant and, if appropriate, connecting me with the Data Protection team to assist with restoring access.
I'm available to provide any documentation or verification information required to support the recovery process."
After the new tenant has been created, you can go to Microsoft 365 Admin Center > Support > Help & Support to submit the support request.
Note: If you sign up for a trial subscription solely to create a support request, remember to cancel the trial subscription after the issue has been resolved to avoid any unintended charges.
I hope the information above helps you reach the appropriate support team and restore access to your account. If you have any additional information or encounter difficulties at any step, please feel free to share the details, and I will continue to assist you.
