Can you go to https://account.live.com > Your info, make sure the language field is not blank or incorrect. Make sure you have it set up to the correct language. Review your country and region as well. Make sure they are correct.

Also, if the subscription was originally signed up from a different country, you would need to let it expire first, and sign up again using the correct country you are in. It cannot be simply renewed if you have moved country.

If none of the above is your scenario, contact billing support.

To get help, open the "Get Help" app on your computer (just search for it in the Start menu). or go to https://support.microsoft.com/contactus, Type "Billing" and press Enter. On the next screen, click "Contact support" at the bottom of the page, then choose "Microsoft 365" > "Manage my subscription". You’ll then see the option to chat with a Microsoft support agent who has access to your account to help review the issue.

For a Microsoft 365 subscription, try these checks in order:

    1. Verify the card details exactly match the bank record:
      • Card number
      • Expiration date
      • Name on the card
      • Billing address, including city, state, and ZIP/postal code
    2. Confirm the card has enough available funds or credit.
    3. If the payment is being declined repeatedly, contact the bank or card provider to check whether:
      • the card is active
      • the transaction is being blocked
      • fraud/security controls are preventing the charge
    4. If this is a Microsoft 365 business account, make sure the payment method was issued from the same country or region as the tenant.
    5. If the subscription has an outstanding or past-due balance, pay that first, then try adding or changing the payment method again.
    6. If this is a personal Microsoft subscription, add or change the payment method from the Services & subscriptions page.
    7. If this is a work or business Microsoft 365 account:
      • Open the Microsoft 365 admin center
      • Go to Billing > Payment methods
      • Add the new payment method there
      • If the option to add or edit payment methods is missing, billing permission is required from the administrator
    8. If the issue continues after checking the details and bank status, contact Microsoft Support through Contact Support.
