I have an unauthorized charge of $129.99 for Microsoft 365 Family on October 2. I need a billing agent.

I followed every instruction the Microsoft Co-Pilot bot gave me for questioning this unauthorized charge and got exactly nowhere. Am now turning this issue over to my Credit Card issuer.

To help identify the appropriate process, could you please confirm whether the transaction appears in your Microsoft account's purchase history at https://account.microsoft.com/billing/orders? Please do not share your credit card number or other sensitive payment information.

Additionally, have you tried to investigate unrecognized Microsoft charges using the official instructions at https://support.microsoft.com/accounts-billing/how-to-investigate-a-billing-charge-from-microsoft

Yes. I have confirmed that the transaction occurred. By logging into my account, I was able to determine that it's a first time charge for renewal of a Family Plan, although it is unexplained how it can be both a "first time" charge and a subscription "renewal". In addition, I was able to confirm that no one else is on the "Family Plan" attached to my account. I live alone with my dog & she doesn't use it either. I followed all official instructions from Microsoft Co-Pilot, which is new on my system--and instructions from a different AI source. Nothing works. Can't get past the bots to a live representative no matter what I tried. Was advised by the last bot to contact my Credit Card issuer.

It can be a first charge and a renewal if it was first a free trial period for free. Sorry that you have this situation, but if the charge appears in your order history and what you would like is a refund, you only need to follow the steps available here, please:

I am caught in a frustrating loop. This was the 4th time I had to request a one time use code to even get this far. I’ve spent the better part of 3 days trying to reach a live Microsoft agent to find out what’s going on. Finally turned it over to my credit card issuer. Basically found out I unknowingly allowed & paid for a Family Plan subscription last year, under a card number which was cancelled & replaced. It automatically renewed Oct 2 without my intervention. I saw a notice about the renewal but since I didn’t know I had a Family Plan (only have a dog, who doesn’t use the phone) I thought it was a phishing scam & deleted it. It subsequently showed up as paid by my Visa Card account on 10/2. How do I get a refund & how do I know what other Plan I need—if any?
