use of Co-Pilot and unexpected chuck-off

I am a paying Microsoft 365 customer. I find it extraordinary that after approximately five minutes of interaction with the Copilot service I was informed that I had exhausted my permitted usage and should return at 10:00. This is not the experience I understand to be represented by the product's marketing

Many thanks Xavier-D for your good reply. When 'Co-Pilot' first became available I was not signed up to any Microsoft programs - I chatted with Co-Pilot for up to an hour occasionally and for shorter periods also. Then I signed up to 'microsoft365' because there were warnings that my archive of files (mostly emails) was exceeding the allowed amount and it would be curtailed without some sort of payment. So I agreed to the terms and thought all would be well. At about that time it seemed to me that the Co-Pilot chat methodology altered and became more 'formal' and less 'chatty'. And then the nasty message that my session was cut off as I had exceeded my limit and 'I could resume after 10am' started happening. My reaction was also swift and that was to dump Co-Pilot and go to ChatGPT which was similar in tone to the 'old' Co-Pilot, and seemed to have no limits. I am not a software expert and I dont use the computer much except for occasional emails, but the useful features of A.I. and asking it questions to save time trawling through multiple different sources for various 'answers; seems a good advance for civilisation; but being a paying customer and also being thrown off the service I have paid for seems a bit wierd. I hope that you can help with this problem - perhaps you can give me a step-by-step plan so that I can discover where the problem lies? - many thanks, Andrew Hope, [Moderator Note: Personal Info Removed]

    Hello Andrew Hope,

I understand why this was frustrating, especially after only a few minutes of use.

Microsoft 365 subscriptions include Copilot access, but individual AI features can still have usage limits. These limits may vary depending on the feature, how Copilot is accessed, the subscription plan, and current system conditions. In Microsoft 365 Family, the Copilot benefits are also available only to the subscription owner.

Please confirm that you were signed in with the Microsoft account that owns the subscription and check Services & subscriptions in your Microsoft account for the current plan and AI usage status.

If the restriction continues after the stated reset time, contact Microsoft Support so they can review the subscription and account-specific usage information, which cannot be accessed through this public forum. Here is how to contact them:

Please note that this is a user-to-user support forum. Moderators and contributors, including external Microsoft employees, are not allowed to directly interfere with Microsoft product features or access back-end systems. 1. Open a website link - Contact - Microsoft Support
    2. In the box below "We're here to help", type Microsoft 365, click "Get Help", and then click "Contact Support" below.
    3. In this section, you will need to sign in to your Microsoft account.
    4. Select "Microsoft 365 and Office" under Products & Services, select "Technical Support" as the category, and click to confirm
    5. You can select " Chat with a support agent in your web browser " to access the chat window.

I hope you can get the support you need, have a nice day.
