Personal account blocked after hidden Outlook alias was deleted. Recovery form submitted, no reply

Hello,

My personal Microsoft account has been blocked since about 27 September 2026. A hidden Outlook alias on the account was deleted, and since then I can't sign in or reset the password. The recovery page now says it doesn't recognise my email address.

What I've tried:

  • Submitted the account recovery form on 28/09 and 01/10, with no reply yet
  • Phone support (automated, sent me online)
  • Support Assistant chat (sends me back to the recovery form)

My Microsoft Authenticator app still approves sign-ins for this account, and I have an active paid Microsoft 365 Family subscription on it.

Is there any way to get this escalated to the account recovery team? Thank you.

Sorry to hear you're having trouble.

As well as the information already provided I also wanted to mention that when you send the form you should keep an eye on your email including the junk/spam folder in case the response is sent there.

No. There is no manual escalation path to an account recovery team for this scenario.

    Supported next steps are:

    1. Check the working email address entered on the recovery form, including Junk/Spam. Recovery form results are sent to that address within 24 hours.
    2. If no result arrived, submit the recovery form again. Recovery attempts can be made up to two times per day.
    3. Complete the form from a device and location previously used for that Microsoft account. Using a familiar device and familiar location is specifically recommended.
    4. If the reset flow says the email address is not recognized, carefully verify the spelling. If the address is correct and the account is reported as not existing, review the guidance for accounts where the username and password have stopped working.
    5. If the account is blocked, use the Sign-in Helper. That is the supported path for blocked Outlook.com accounts and for cases where normal sign-in issues need to be identified.
    6. If the account recovery form was unsuccessful, keep retrying the automated process. Support agents are not allowed to send password reset links or access and change account details.

The Microsoft 365 Family subscription and Authenticator approvals do not create a separate escalation route in the provided guidance.

If the hidden Outlook alias was deleted and the sign-in address is now reported as not existing, the available guidance does not provide a recovery-team escalation path. The supported options remain the recovery form, Sign-in Helper, and standard Contact Support for technical guidance only, not account recovery override.
